Wednesday Series:

Introduction

Since Ancient Greece, it was understood that music and text had an indissoluble unity, to the extent that, for some philosophers, melody should arise from the particularities of each language and each text. Inspired by this idea, this series of concerts proposes an approach to the vocal repertory based on poetry and poets, instead of music and composers, as is usually the case. Each concert thus focuses on a different poetic tradition: German, Spanish, Catalan, French and popular (and, therefore, anonymous) poetry, set to music by some of the most important composers of the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
