Composers Under 35 (VII)

Premieres and Re-premieres:

Introduction

Every season since 2012, the Fundación Juan March has exclusively devoted a concert to the works of young Spanish composers. This project is linked to another similar initiative, titled Tribuna de Jóvenes Compositores (Young Composers’ Platform), which the Foundation developed during the 1980s. With the participation of different groups specialising in contemporary music, from soloists to chamber ensembles, this space aims to disseminate the music of Spanish composers as much as possible, making the recordings of all the works performed available on the Foundation’s webpage. This seventh series focuses on the string quartet and presents works by six young composers under the age of 35, which are added to approximately thirty works from previous concerts.

Available on streaming via Canal March

Starting in 1986 this series of concerts offers works by Spanish composers that, for whatever reason, have not been easy to hear after their premiere, leading, on occasions, to the practical "disappearance" of pieces, in many cases undeservedly.

The Aula de (Re)estrenos (Auditorium of Re-premieres) is not limited to rediscovering works from the past, it is also a space where recent works, either already premiered in other places or yet to be premiered, are presented for the first time in Madrid. All the audio of the previous Aulas, together with the programs, the photographs and other related materials are available in Clamor. Digital library of Spanish Music
