Schubert consagrado: Lieder de 1823-1826

27 September 2017
Special concert: Schubert consagrado: Lieder de 1823-1826

It is a cliché to acknowledge that Franz Schubert’s contribution to the configuration of the German Lied, the musical-poetic genre par excellence, was like that of no other composer. Schubert’s importance in his creative world is confirmed by both the sheer number of songs in his catalogue of works (over 600), and the fame they bestowed on him during his lifetime and after his death. But Schubert wasn’t only an inventor of beautiful and inimitable melodies: he was also the first to use song to express the deepest emotional corners and innermost psychological nuances of human nature.
