Serenity: music to meditate

This series took place onFrom to

Some composers seem to strive to challenge the definition of music as the “art of sound in time”. The works in this series, at times from exotic compositional traditions, thus seem to freeze time and lead to a state of contemplative serenity; a serene listening that frees us from the hectic and very rapid pace of everyday life. Paraphrasing the philosopher Martin Heidegger, “serenity with regard to things and openness to the mystery belong to each other […]. That’s why reflective listening must be kept alive”.
