Beethoven and Schubert at the fortepiano

This series took place onFrom to
Beethoven and Schubert were consummate pianists like many composers of their time. That’s why their works immediately incorporated the technical innovations the instrument offered, in vertiginous evolution since its invention decades earlier. This series will provide a rare opportunity to hear different chamber genres on two fortepianos of the period (solo, four hands, in duo and in trio). The copies of instruments by Walter & Sohn (c. 1805) and Conrad Graf (c. 1819) are paradigms of a typically Viennese sound that has been lost and that this interpretative proposal seeks to recreate.
