In two lectures, the writer and Professor of Art History, José Manuel Cruz Valdovinos, revisits the life, times and work of the Dominican painter and friar who was known as Fra Angelico shortly after his death – a beatified person and artists’ patron since 1982 – and who was probably one of the first artists of the Italian Quattrocento to assimilate the concepts of what is today referred to as Renaissance painting.
