The figure of Alfonso X is discussed by Isidro Bango, historian and Professor of Early and Medieval Art at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Alfonso X was the most universal and brilliant Spanish monarch of the Middle Ages and one of the indisputable figures in Europe during his time, not only for the expanse of his cultural and artistic enterprise but his revitalising effect in legal and legislative spheres.

In the second session the ensemble Música Antigua, conducted by Eduardo Paniagua, will perform a selection of cantigas from the Alfonsí repertory.
