Chopin revolutionised the pianistic universe. His melodic exquisiteness and expressive profundity, combined with his idiomatic writing and an innovative use of musical forms, made him a reference for several generations of composers. As a continuation to the series “Chopin and posterity” from last season, these concerts investigate the mark he left on Spanish composition beyond the clichés associated with his stance in Valldemossa: his influence on the pianists of his time, imitation in the guitar repertory and continued existence in twentieth-century creation.
