Broadway, the most famous avenue in New York lends its name to the district with the strongest repercussions in the history of music theatre (considered by many the equivalent to modern opera). From the end of the nineteenth century, Broadway generated a frenetic musical activity and for decades it was a centre of attraction for the most important creators. Its theatres embraced all types of genres (musicals, operettas, comedies), set the trends of music theatre and forged some of the most memorable success stories that the concerts in this series recreate and bring up to date.
