A cuatro voces (I)
Qvinta Essençia
Since the consolidation of polyphonic writing during the Renaissance, vocal quartet writing has been a constant feature in history, as the enormous diversity of repertoires conceived for this ensemble confirms. This series presents a journey through different four-part genres over the last few centuries: Spanish villancicos from the Golden Age accompanied by the vihuela, works by Brahms and various American composers with the piano, and a wide selection of original and arranged a cappella vocal works from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
