Víctor UllateMaster of Masters
Conversations at the Fundación with Antonio San José
The dancer, choreographer and director Víctor Ullate describes his career in the world of dance, from his first teacher María de Ávila to his most recent projects with his company, the Ballet Víctor Ullate, and his school. Proud of the great dancers he has trained (including leading figures such as Tamara Rojo, Ángel Corella, Lucía Lacarra and Ruth Miró) the artist vindicates the importance of the teacher and recounts anecdotes from some of his own performances, especially as principal dancer of Maurice Béjart’s Ballet du XXe Siècle. To improve society, he calls for greater attention to be paid to art and an increased value be placed on humanity and generosity.
