Works by H. Eisler and S. Revueltas
Hanns Eisler and Silvestre Revueltas shared a strong political commitment that was reflected in many of their works. Moreover, they spent much of their careers linked to the mass media. Thus, Eisler’s Septet Op. 92/a reused materials from the soundtrack he had composed for the film A Child Went Forth, while Fourteen Ways to Describe the Rain derived from the music for the experimental film Regen [Rain]. Meanwhile, Ocho por radio came about after a Mexican organisation commissioned Revueltas for a work to be performed during a radio broadcast.
