C. P. E. Bach y el estilo sentimental

Works by W. F. Bach and C. P. E. Bach

10/12/2019

J. S. Bach’s sons are important representatives of different trends that co-existed during the eighteenth century. Of all of them, the music of Wilhelm Friedemann is closest to his father’s, while C. P. E. Bach breaks with the Baroque aesthetic. His Quartet No. 2 in D major H 538 (1788) is a mature work in which contrasts, modulations and the theatricality of the discourse approach the Romantic aesthetic.
