CantoríaQuema el deseo, la pasión, el pecado
Works from Spanish "cancioneros" from the 15th and 16th centuries
Fire is a symbol of passion, but also of sin and divine love. These three dimensions of fire as a symbolic element often appear combined in Iberian songbooks of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. These compilations of vocal music contain a secular repertory that sublimates the popular tradition and converts it into a repertory intended for the cultured nobility.
