Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon

Pauline Viardot: Cendrillon

2/14/2014

Cendrillon, a drawing-room operetta in three acts for seven voices and piano, was composed by the singer and composer Pauline Viardot (1821-1910). The classic fairytale Cinderella is the basis for the plot, while the libretto was written by Viardot herself. The work was premiered in a drawing room in Paris in 1904.
