The Spanish neurobiologist Rafael Yuste, a Columbia University researcher and professor, gives a rundown of the origins, development and future prospects of the BRAIN project, which he forms parts of. Financed by the United States Congress, its objective is to register the activity of the human brain. One of the most important aspects of this research, which combines science and technology, is its application for detecting the causes of numerous diseases. Yuste’s proposals for improving society point to the use of education as a tool for coexistence and intercultural integration, and focus on its application in the Spanish context.
