Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Juan Cruz and Juan Esteban Cuacci, piano

“There are words, verbs and concepts that are absolutely devastating”

The actor Emilio Gutiérrez Caba presents a dramatised reading of several stories by Juan Carlos Onetti: the short stories “El cerdito” (The Piglet), “El gato” (The Cat), “Luna llena” (Full Moon) and “Jabón” (Soap), and a longer story titled “El infierno tan temido” (So Feared a Hell). Onetti narrates the evilness of man in a natural way, using cold and distant language. In the introduction, the journalist and writer Juan Cruz also points out the dose of humour sprinkled through the harshness characteristic of the Uruguayan writer’s stories. The pianist Juan Esteban Cuacci performs various tangos during the session.
