Los dos ciegos-Uné éducation manquée

5/6/2015 - 5/10/2015

French operetta was an inspiration to Spanish composers and librettist, who adapted numerous works to this context. A good example of this practice is Barbieri’s short farce Los dos ciegos (1855), which is based on an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. The vitality of French operetta is clear in Emmanuel Chabrier’s Une éducation manquée (1879), a work Emmanuel Chabrier premiered in the same form in which it was performed at the Fundación Juan March.
