La Ritirata Gaetano Brunetti: Trio in E flat major, Serie VI Nº 3, L 117. First modern-times performance 17:28NOVEMBER 27, 2013Gaetano Brunetti’s Trio in E flat Major is on the same wavelength as Haydn. Among the most interesting moments of the work are the bold chromatic passages in the second part of the first movement and the second movement, which cites an early trio by Carlo Antonio Campioni. The sombre nature of these excerpts contrasts with the festive “Allegretto un poco vivace”, whose form combines the rondo, theme and variations and the minuet.
La Ritirata Luigi Boccherini: Trío en Do mayor Op. 35 nº 5, G 105 17:35NOVEMBER 27, 2013Although it may come as a surprise to us, the string trio was one of the most popular genres in Spain at the end of the eighteenth century. Boccherini composed his String Trio in C Major in 1781 while he was living in Arenas de San Pedro in the service of the Infante Luis. The work stands out for the contrast between the melancholy of the initial “Largo” and the expansive joy of the “Allegro vivo”, as well as the extraordinary development of the finale, a theme with four variations.
